Meet Geoff D’Elboux! Although being a classroom teacher here at Stella Maris for a number of years, Geoff has taken on the role of
Support Teacher: Engagement and Wellbeing (ST:EW) this year and is relishing his new role, not just in Year 6, but across all classrooms.
- Hobbies: Geoff loves mountain biking, fishing, soaking up the sun at the beach and having a good old chat and laugh.
- Passions: In no particular order, he's devoted to being a dad/husband, Student Engagement and Wellbeing, cheering for his hometown teams - the mighty Canberra Raiders (AKA The Green Machine), A.C.T Brumbies, and the Australian Cricket team in all forms. He's passionate about teaching, coaching rugby league and union, having fun with family and friends, listening to great music, eating delicious food and exploring life's wonders.
- Geoff's top 3 favourite quotes (commonly attributed to various sources) :
- "Great leaders don’t tell you what to do, they show you how it is done."
- "Life is not about what you want or can have, but what you can give. When we give, we become rich in love and friendship, and these are things that money cannot buy."
- "Making mistakes is how we learn."
- Downtime activities: Geoff enjoys having fun with his family in the great outdoors, watching his favourite TV shows and catching up with his mates.
Geoff sure gets his steps up travelling around the school meeting and supporting a variety of students. He loves that in his role he connects with staff and parents and comes up with proactive responses to the challenges that staff and students face at school.
